Heroes of the Holocaust

  • Description

Maria Andzelm was a Catholic teenager growing up in Nazi-occupied Poland. One by one, her Jewish friends and neighbours were hauled away to undisclosed locations, never to be seen or heard from again. Then Maria’s family took in two Jewish men. They hid them in a box underneath the floor of their barn. Every day, Maria brought them food to satisfy their stomachs and books to feed their minds. She did this every day for two years–and paid a terrible price.

Read Maria’s stirring story as well as the gripping accounts of five other teenagers who willingly put their lives in jeopardy for the sake of saving Jews.
